    Grzegorz Spiewak (double MA in English & Linguistics from University of Essex, UK and University of Warsaw, Poland), PhD in Linguistics (University of Warsaw 2002) is a man of many ELT hats which he has been juggling with enthusiasm for over twenty years: language teacher, academic lecturer, researcher, advisor, EFL consultant, project manager, teacher trainer, conference speaker, materials’ developer and author.
    He has taught English to students of all levels, particularly at tertiary level, as academic lecturer at a teacher training college (Radom, Poland), and subsequently at the English Department of Warsaw University, Poland. Within his 19-year affiliation with Warsaw University he taught academic English, linguistics, applied linguistics, and methodology; he was also in charge of English teaching policy reform for the department.
    His non-academic activities have included a long-term affiliation with Macmillan Education as teacher trainer, project manager, author and recently Head ELT Consultant for Poland. In 1993 he co-founded his own teacher training project, DOS-ELTea, a fully independent teacher development center, involved in a number of pioneering projects, either managed autonomously or in educational partnership with leading organizations. More recently, he has become particularly interested in the potential of parents as foreign language educators for their children. This led to his developing an award-winning project called ‘deDOMO – English for parents’, part of which is an innovative series of study guides for parents that Grzegorz is the head author of.
    He is also a very active member of the ELT community, particularly through IATEFL Poland (he served as its vice-president and then president and is now a member of its advisory board).
