    Part-time Assistant Professor


    Author of five novels, including Doctors & Women, and Elizabeth Cole and eight  nonfiction books, including her most recent memoir, Desire: Where Sex Meets Addiction and the best-selling American Bloomsbury, as well as  Home Before Dark, and the biography My Name Is Bill. Bill Wilson: His Life and the Creation of Alcoholics Anonymous. She is currently working on a biography of Louisa May Alcott. Her work has been published in The New Yorker Magazine, The New York Times , Newsweek and many other places. Her numerous awards include a Guggenheim Fellowship and a National Book Critic’s Circle Award nomination.
