    Linda Dunne

    Profile:

    Linda Dunne has been at The New School since 1991, serving initially as Director of the Bachelors Program (1991-1998), then as Associate Dean for Academic Affairs (1998-2005) and Dean of The New School for General Studies (2005-2009). Prior to coming to The New School, Professor Dunne held various academic and administrative positions at Monterey Peninsula College, Antioch University, and the City University of New York. She earned a BA and MA in English at UCLA and a PhD in English at the City University of New York Graduate School. Her scholarly interests have focused on American literature of the 19th and 20th centuries with special attention to literature by women writers and ideas of normalcy and deviance. She currently teaches Pathways to Learning: the Idea of the University, a course she designed especially for newly matriculated students in the School of Undergraduate Studies.
