    Patricia Carlin

    Patricia Carlin teaches poetry writing, Shakespeare studies, and poetry and poetics, for which she has received the Distinguished University Teaching Award.  Her book publications include Original Green, a poetry collection (2003); Quantum Jitters, another poetry collection forthcoming in 2008; and Shakespeare’s Mortal Men, a study of Shakespeare’ plays in their cultural context; and her work has appeared  in numerous journals and anthologies, including Verse, Boulevard, American Letters & Commentary, McSweeney’s Internet Tendency, and many others.  She co-edits the poetry journal Barrow Street and is a co-founder of Barrow Street Books.  Recent awards include fellowships at the MacDowell Colony and The Virginia Center for the Creative Arts, and two Pushcart Prize nominations.  She received her Ph.D. from Princeton University, where she focused on Shakespeare studies, and poetry and poeticsView Portrait
