Thank you for your interest in The New
School for Public Engagement, one of seven academic divisions of The New School. On this site you can learn more about the academic programs of this division. The Office of Admission is available to answer all your questions and help you with the application process. Below you can find contact information and learn about group and individual information sessions, tours of our campus, and possibly meeting us in a city near you.
Use the left-side menu to learn about requirements for international students, military services benefits, and transferring credits from other institutions.
Use the right-side menu of academic programs to find specific information about degrees and certificates available at The New School for Public Engagement, including specific application procedures and completion requirements.
Did you know? There is no formal admission process to take one of the hundreds of continuing education courses offered every year by The New School for Public Engagement. Go to Continuing Education to find courses and register online.

Group information sessions include presentations on academic expectations, the admission process, costs and financial aid, and career outcomes.
You can also arrange for a guided tour of The New School and/or to visit a class in session.
Contact the Office of Admission (see information below) to set up an individual meeting with an admission counselor, who can help you decide whether a particular program is a good match for your academic background and career goals.
New School admission counselors travel to a number of cities in the United States and other countries to meet prospective students who can't come to New York City. Check back to this website in July for the next round of travel dates.
