WHAT: |
"Women's Pay Equity: Getting Even," a public event exploring the gap between men’s and women’s wages.
It is well known that women in the United States are paid, on average, 77 cents for every dollar that a man earns. Sometimes, this is a result of women getting paid less for the same work. In other cases, women are under-represented in higher-earning positions or take different career paths due to family responsibilities. The wage gap varies among women and is larger for women of color and women in particular sectors and occupations.
This event is sponsored by the Center for New York City Affairs, Women at The New School, and the Milano School of International Affairs, Management, and Urban Policy. |
