Author Leonard Marcus will take part in a conversation, Writing for Children, at The New School on February 10.

The New School presents its 2015spring semester public programming in writing and literature. Since its founding in 1919, The New School has been one of New York City's best-known sites for readings, author interviews, and literature events with leading authors and thinkers.

Writing for Children: Leonard Marcus. Leonard Marcus, one of the world’s leading authorities on children’s books and their illustration, in conversation with Caron Levis, faculty, School of Writing. 2014 Story Prize Awards Ceremony. The Story Prize finalists will read from and discuss their work with Story Prize director Larry Dark and founder Julie Lindsey. 2015 National Book Critics Circle Reading and Awards Ceremony. 2015 National Book Critics Circle Awards finalists will read from their work on March 11, followed by an awards ceremony on March 12 for the finest books published in English in several categories. Cave Canem Poetry Readings. Sarah Gambito, poet and Director of Creative Writing at Fordham, Saretta Morgan, author, and Frank X Walker, Kentucky Poet Laureate, read and discuss their writing on March 17. Bettina Judd, artist, writer, and teacher, Christopher Stackhouse, poet and curator, and Venus Thrash, poet, share their work on April 21.
