NEW YORK -- Mannes College The New School for Music presents Mannes in Unison, a new concert series featuring world-class faculty members and alumni performing alongside exceptional students.

Under the direction of violin virtuoso and Mannes College faculty member Lucie Robert, the recitals will be held on Tuesday, November 25th, 2014 and Thursday, May 7th, 2015 at Mannes College’s Concert Hall, 150 West 85th Street.

Mannes College is one of the only conservatories in the country now presenting a concert series dedicated to musical collaboration between master teachers and their students. The learning process, from rehearsals to the concert hall, will provide the opportunity for young talents to reach new levels of professionalism while enhancing their musicianship through mentorship with master musicians.

Lauded for her “melting tone” and “wonderfully supple approach to phrasing” (The New York Times), Robert has performed as a violin soloist with major orchestras in Canada, including the Montreal Symphony under Charles Dutoit. In addition, she has served for more than twenty-five years as violin professor at Mannes College and the Manhattan School of Music in New York City, and she has given master classes throughout the world at prestigious institutions such as Seoul National University, the Central Conservatory in Beijing, the Shanghai Conservatory of Music, Oberlin Conservatory, Yong Siew Toh Conservatory, the Glenn Gould School and the Conservatoire de Musique de Montreal.

The November 25 concert will feature Mannes faculty and alumni Lucie Robert, violin; Mark Steinberg, violin; Hiroko Yajima, violin; Daniel Panner, viola; Charles Neidich, clarinet; Maya Lahyani, mezzo-soprano; Pavlina Dokovska, piano; and Cristina Stanescu, piano; and Mannes Young Artists: Minghao Li, violin; Wen-Guan Li, viola; Jeanne Dorche, cello; Zexin Shen, cello; Aaron Barrera-Reyes, bass; Michelle Pan, oboe.
