NEW YORK, June 18, 2014- Mannes College The New School for Music will host the 14th annual New York Guitar Seminar at Mannes, featuring the world’s leading classical guitar soloists and ensembles. The theme this year is “Masters from the Academy.” The Guitar Seminar is New York City’s only weeklong classical guitar festival, and offers classical guitar students the opportunity to join the world’s top performers and competition winners for master classes, interactive forums, and ensemble coaching.

The festival also includes seven public concerts with renowned guitarists Ana Vidovic, Benjamin Verdery, and Fabio Zanon, as well as a Guitar Seminar faculty members Robert Sharpe, Andre Zohn, and Tali Roth, among many more.

“We’ve gathered together our favorite guitarists—teachers at the world’s top schools, including Princeton University, Yale University, the Royal Academy of Music in London, and New York’s Juilliard School and Mannes College The New School for Music,” said Laura Oltman, co-founding director of the New York Guitar Seminar at Mannes and member of the Newman & Oltman Guitar Duo. “The hands-on interactive workshops and master classes give participants and audiences alike an incredible opportunity to watch these master teachers in action.”
