New York, September 9, 2014 – America's most global university? That's The New School. America's most intimate university? Also The New School.

For the ninth year in a row, U.S. News and World Report's Best Colleges issue, released today, has ranked The New School as the top university for international undergraduates, with foreign students making up 31% of the undergraduate student body.

The magazine also listed The New School as the First Tier national university with the highest proportion of classes with under 20 students. Reflective of The New School's commitment to intimate, hands-on learning, 89% of New School courses enroll fewer than 20 students.

From its campus in the heart of New York City's Greenwich Village, The New School is home to 10,000 degree-seeking students in more than 135 degree programs across disciplines including social sciences, design, and the performing arts. Last year The New School expanded its global reach with the opening of Parsons Paris and Parsons Mumbai, and in 2014 established Parsons Shanghai. The New School's University Center, offering 16 stories of state-of-the-art studios, classrooms, and student resources, opened in January 2014.

About The New School: Founded in 1919, The New School was born out of principles of academic freedom, tolerance, and experimentation. Committed to social engagement, The New School today remains in the vanguard of innovation in higher education, with more than 10,000 undergraduate and graduate students challenging the status quo in design and the social sciences, liberal arts, management, the arts, and media.
