NEW YORK, New York, September 17, 2012 - The Mannes Orchestra with conductor David Hayes presents its fall 2012 program. The orchestra, which has been praised by the New York Times for its "youthful exuberance" will perform two concerts in a new downtown location: at the Centennial Memorial Temple at Salvation Army Headquarters at 120 West 14 Street.

David Hayes, acclaimed for his command of music across classical genres, will conduct the fall concerts. In addition to his role as conductor of the Mannes Orchestra and professor of professional practice at Mannes College The New School for Music, Mr. Hayes is also the staff conductor of the Curtis Symphony Orchestra and music director of the Philadelphia Singers.

On Friday, September 28 at 7:30 p.m., the orchestra will perform Bartok's Miraculous Mandarin, an act from the early 20th century pantomime ballet Trauer-Symphonie by Haydn, and Herrmann's North by Northwest Suite.

On Tuesday, October 30 at 7:30 p.m., the program will include work from The Firebird by Stravinsky and Ravel's Daphnis et Cholé Suite No. 2.

Admission is to both events free. No tickets are required; seating is first-come first-served. Please contact the Mannes Concert Office at 212.580.0210 x4817 for more information.
