Thomas Sauer, Director of the Mannes Beethoven Institute, will perform on Tuesday, June 5, Wednesday, June 6, and Thursday, June 7
NEW YORK (May 10, 2012) - Mannes College The New School for Music announces the twelfth annual Mannes Beethoven Institute, which will explore Beethoven's sonatas, piano trios, and string quartets in a week of intensive study and public concerts featuring some of the world's leading performers and scholars of Beethoven. The program will run June 3 through June 10, 2012, with public performances running June 5 through June 10.

Participating faculty includes pianists Yuri Kim, Victor Rosenbaum, Thomas Sauer, Ignat Solzhenitsyn and Diane Walsh; violinists Ara Gregorian and Soovin Kim; cellists Colin Carr and Michael Kannen; and musicologists Scott Burnham and William Rothstein.

Faculty concerts will take place on Tuesday, June 5, Wednesday, June 6 and Thursday, June 7 at 8:00 PM. Admission is $20; tickets are available in advance at www.newschool.edu/mannes/beethoven-institute and at the door on the evening of the performances. Students of the Institute will perform on Saturday, June 9 at 7:00 and Sunday, June 10 beginning at 1:00 p.m. Admission to the student performances is free.
