Music can evoke profound emotional and physical responses, moving us to cry, laugh, and dance—but does music have a neurological impact? In her book The Power of Music: Pioneering Discoveries in the New Science of Song, author Elena Mannes explores how neuroscientists and psychologists are learning how melody, rhythm and harmony can change the way our brains work. Elena Mannes will be joined in discussion with experts from science and music to talk about the many intersections of science, philosophy and music.
