WHO:

Otto-Werner Mueller has been a primary force in the development of orchestral and conducting pedagogy in the United States and Canada, and has trained many leading conductors active in North America today. He has conducted throughout North America and Europe, and has served as Director of Orchestral Studies at The Juilliard School, and on the faculty of The Curtis Institute, where he was teacher of David Hayes, Director of Orchestral and Conducting Studies at Mannes College.

Matei Varga makes his Lincoln Center debut as piano soloist with The Mannes Orchestra, having won First Place in Mannes’s 2005-06 Alexis Gregory Concerto Competition. Throughout his career, he has received many awards and honors, and has performed as solo recitalist, chamber musician, and concerto soloist at major venues around the world. 

   
ABOUT: The Mannes Orchestra is one of several performance ensembles featuring talented young classical musicians enrolled at the school. The Orchestra performs six concerts each season in addition to participating in a fully staged production by The Mannes Opera each spring at The Kaye Playhouse.
