(New York, NY—August 4, 2005) Parsons The New School for Design presents an exhibition of work by the first graduating class of its MFA Photography & Related Technologies program. The program, which was established in 2003, functions as a 21st century atelier that educates students in both the evolving language of photography and
the technology driving that evolution.
The exhibition will feature work by thirteen graduating students and feature a range of media and styles, including portraiture, installation art, and works in a variety of digital media. Among the featured artists are Hsuan-Hsuan Wu, who creates self-portraits played out in public spaces such as Times Square and Coney Island (pictured). Lori Braunstein uses Machinima, a new form of filmmaking that uses computer games technology to shoot films in the virtual reality of a game engine. Following the exhibition, works will be on view at www.parsonsphotobook.com, a website featuring portfolios of work by Parsons alumni and graduating students.
