NEW SCHOOL UNIVERSITY’S MILANO GRADUATE SCHOOL TO HOLD COMMENCEMENT CEREMONY ON SUNDAY, JUNE 12, 2005 AT SARATOGA SPRINGS’ PRIME HOTEL

PAUL A. CROTTY, VERIZON COMMUNICATIONS GROUP PRESIDENT, TO GIVE KEYNOTE ADDRESS

(New York, NY - June 7, 2005)  The Milano Graduate School, a division of New School University, will hold a commencement ceremony for its upstate campus serving Navy personnel at the Nuclear Power Training Unit in Ballston Spa, NY. The ceremony will take place on Sunday, June 12, 2005 at 12:00 noon at the Prime Hotel, 534 Broadway, Saratoga Springs, New York. The Milano Graduate School will award 51 B.S. degrees and 6 M.S. degrees at its commencement exercises.

“Milano is tremendously proud of our students and alums serving in the Navy,” said Dean Fred P. Hochberg of the Milano Graduate School. “Our Ballston Spa campus trains Navy men and women in management, policy, and strategic decision-making. The Milano educational experience compliments the experience that students gain through their Navy experience, and advances their future careers - whether in the military or in civilian life.”

Paul A. Crotty, Verizon Communications’ Group President and himself a former Commissioned Officer in the Navy, will deliver the keynote address. Crotty is responsible for executive and legislative relations and regulatory affairs in two states where Verizon has over 10,000,000 telephone lines. After the terrorist attack on September 11, 2001, Crotty played a major role in coordinating Verizon’s work in restoring telephone service to the NY Stock Exchange.

Crotty is a former Partner at the law firm Donovan Leisure Newton & Irvine; was Corporation Counsel for NYC during the Rudolph Giuliani administration; and served as a Commissioner in the Edward I. Koch administration.

In April 2005, Crotty was unanimously confirmed by the United States Senate to serve as Judge for the Southern District of NY Crotty serves on the Board of the Lower Manhattan Development Corporation, Tri-State United Way, where is also the Corporate Secretary, New York State Business Development Corporation, Regional Plan Associations, and the New York Urban League, among others. He was born and raised in Buffalo, New York. He attended the University of Notre Dame and Cornell Law School.  He also served on active duty with the U.S. Navy.
