THE MANNES BEETHOVEN INSTITUTE

SUNDAY, JUNE 5 - SATURDAY, JUNE 11, 2005

(New York, NY - April 28, 2005) Mannes College of Music, a division of New School University, announces The Mannes Beethoven Institute from Sunday, June 5 - Saturday, June 11, 2005, which will explore Beethoven’s sonatas, piano trios and string quartets in a week of intensive study. A distinguished faculty will offer students a mixture of private lessons, master classes, lectures, and public concerts. Students work closely with faculty towards public performances of their own at the end of the Institute.

The Mannes Beethoven Institute takes place at Mannes College of Music, 150 West 85th Street, NYC. Thomas Sauer is the Artistic Director of The Mannes Beethoven Institute.

This summer’s esteemed faculty includes: pianists Randall Hodgkinson, Jacob Lateiner, Robert McDonald and Thomas Sauer; violinists Pamela Frank and Nicholas Kitchen; cellists Colin Carr and Timothy Eddy; Brentano String Quartet; lecturers Joel Lester (Dean of Mannes College of Music) and Carl Schachter.
