(New York, NY - September 15, 2004) New School University and Time Warner will present a panel discussion during Hispanic Heritage month on “Defining the New Mainstream: The Growing Influence of Latinos in America” on Thursday, October 7, 2004 from 5:30 - 7:00 p.m. Admission is free, and seating is limited for this discussion, which will be held at New School University’s John L. New School University President Bob Kerrey and Jeff Bewkes, Chairman of Time Warner’s Entertainment & Networks Group, will introduce the event. Panelists will include Senator Christopher Dodd (D-CT), Lorraine Cortés-Vazquez, President of the Hispanic Federation; Guy Garcia, author of The New Mainstream: How the Multicultural Consumer is Transforming American Business; Anthony D. Romero, Executive Director of the American Civil Liberties Union; and Raul Yzaguirre, President and CEO of the National Council of La Raza. Jorge Ramos, anchor for Noticiero Univision and author of The Latino Wave: How Hispanics Will Elect the Next American President, will moderate the discussion.
