NEW SCHOOL UNIVERSITY'S JAZZ PROGRAM PRESENTS A CONCERT IN
CELEBRATION OF THE GRAMMY AWARDS ON FEBRUARY 19, 2003 AT 3:00 PM

(New York, NY – February 6, 2003) New School University's Jazz Program will present "New Faces in Jazz," a concert by outstanding Jazz Program students, on Wednesday, February 19, 2003 at 3:00 p.m. in celebration of the upcoming Grammy Awards in NYC. The concert will take place at New School University's Jazz Performance Space located at 55 West 13th Street, 5th Floor, NYC. This event is made possible in part by the Recording Academy (NARAS) and the 45th Annual Grammy Awards. Jazz Program faculty member and award-winning composer Cecil Bridgewater will lead the group. Students featured in this concert are all veterans of the prestigious High School Grammy Band and include: Jesse Boykins on vocals, Travis LaPlante on saxophone, Michael Seropyan on saxophone, Jonathan Finlayson on trumpet, Keyon Harrold on trumpet, and Chris Turner on vocals. The rhythm section will include: Adam Mannes (piano), Bob DeBoo (bass), and Chris Higginbottom (drummer).

The Grammy Awards will be presented at Madison Square Garden and air live on the CBS television network on February 23, 2003 from 8:00 – 11:30 p.m. (ET/PT). For more information, go to www.grammy.aol.com.
