CONDUCTOR DAVID HAYES LEADS THE MANNES ORCHESTRA ON

Program to feature Haydn's Symphony No. 44 in E Minor,
R. Strauss's "Till Eulenspiegels lustige Streiche," Op. 28, and
Beethoven's Symphony No. 7 in A Major, Op. 92

(New York, NY – August 26, 2002) Conductor David Hayes will lead The Mannes Orchestra on Monday, October 7, 2002 at 8 PM at the newly expanded and revitalized theatre complex, the Peter Norton Symphony Space, 95th Street and Broadway, NYC. The program will feature Haydn's Symphony No. 44 in E Minor ("Trauer-Symphonie"c. 1771), Strauss "Till Eulenspiegels lustige Streiche," Op. 28 (1894-95), and Beethoven's Symphony No. 7 in A Major, Op. 92 (1811-12).

The next concert in The Mannes Orchestra series will take place on Monday, November 4, 2002 at Symphony Space with conductor David Hayes.

David Hayes is Director of Orchestral and Conducting Studies at Mannes College of Music. He is also Assistant Conductor of the Philadelphia Orchestra, Staff Conductor of The Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia, and Music Director of the Philadelphia Singers. He has served as Cover Conductor of the New York Philharmonic, and of the Curtis Symphony Orchestra during its European tour with Sir André Previn in the Fall of 1999.
