MANNES COLLEGE OF MUSIC ANNOUNCES
MASTER CLASS WITH CELLIST PETER WILEY
TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 26, 2002 AT 4PM

(New York, NY – January 2, 2002) - Mannes College of Music, a division of New School University, announces a master class with acclaimed cellist, Peter Wiley. The class will take place on Tuesday, February 26, 2002 at 4PM at Mannes College of Music. Admission is free to this event. For further information, call Mannes at 212-496-8524. Mr. Wiley is a member of the renowned Guarneri String Quartet, which has played in the world's most prestigious halls in North and South America, Mexico, Europe, Asia and Australia. He attended the Curtis Institute at just thirteen years of age under the tutelage of David Soyer. He continued his impressive youthful accomplishments with his appointment as Principal Cellist of the Cincinnati Symphony at age 20. He has been awarded an Avery Fisher Career Grant and was nominated with the Beaux Arts Trio for a Grammy Award in 1998. Peter Wiley has been a faculty artist at Caramoor's "Rising Stars" program, and has taught at the Cincinnati College Conservatory of Music, the Mannes College of Music and the Manhattan School of Music. He is currently on the faculty at SUNY Purchase and the Curtis Institute of Music.
