MANNES COLLEGE OF MUSIC OPERA TO PRESENT
AN EVENING OF OPERA SCENES
JANUARY 10 AND 11, 2002 AT 7:30PM

(New York, NY - December 10, 2001) The Mannes College of Music Opera program will present An Evening of Opera Scenes at Mannes Concert Hall on Thursday, January 10 and Friday, January 11, 2002 at the Mannes Concert Hall at 7:30pm. Operatic excerpts that will be performed include the following:

  • January 10: Carmen, Don Giovanni, Ariadne auf Naxos and Lucia di Lammermoor

  • January 11: Carmen, Arabella, La Clemenza di Tito, Don Giovanni and Lucia di Lammermoor

    The Mannes Opera program trains aspiring young professionals. Mannes College of Music features a superb artist faculty and offers small, intimate classes to ensure close interaction among the faculty and students. Students in the Mannes Opera program have the opportunity to appear in fully staged opera productions and in workshop performances during the year. The Mannes Opera program also presents master classes by world-renowned singers each year, and Renata Scotto and Regina Resnik were recently appointed Master Artists in Residence at Mannes.

    The next presentation by the Mannes Opera program will take place on May 11 and 12, 2002 when the program presents a fully-staged production at the Kaye Playhouse at Hunter College.
