The Actors Studio Seminar Series welcomes Spike Lee, Ben Affleck, Kevin Costner, Melanie Griffith, Michael Douglas, Gwyneth Paltrow, Mike Myers, and Ed Harris to New School University this fall 2000. These A-list celebrities will sit down with host James Lipton for an in-depth conversation about their lives and their careers. The Actors Studio Seminar Series is taped for later broadcast as the award-winning show Inside The Actors Studio on Bravo cable television. Inside The Actors Studio

received its fourth Emmy nomination this year for Outstanding Non-Fiction Series. The show has also received two CableACE Award nominations, winning for Best Talk Show in 1997.

James Lipton, the executive producer, writer and host of the series, is also Dean of the Actors Studio Drama School. Following the in-depth interview, students in the Actors Studio Drama School’s M.F.A. program attend a question and answer session with the guest.

New School University’s Actors Studio Drama School offers a three-year M.F.A. program in Acting, Directing, and Playwriting. The School was created in 1994, when the New School joined forces with the prestigious Actors Studio.
