WHAT: For the first time in our nation’s history, a woman is serving as the speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives, and we witnessed the historic campaign of our country’s first viable female presidential candidate. Yet women in elected office hold only 16 seats in the U.S. Senate and 71 in the House of Representatives. Join a panel of female political professionals who have broken through the glass ceiling in government and politics as they discuss the strides women have made in pursuit of leadership roles and the challenges they have faced in assuming and maintaining power in the political arena. The panel is presented by Milano The New School for Management and Urban Policy. There will be ample time for questions from the press.
