Best Thing You've Ever Eaten in NYC: A Nutella and strawberry waffle from the Waffles and Dinges truck.
Briefly describe the moment you knew Parsons was the one: After talking to seniors and graduates who had "gone through it all" and were actually sad to be leaving despite promising futures at leading design companies, I knew I would enjoy my path to success here. My program doesn't limit me, because [with the dual degree] I am able to pursue all of my interests and gain a lot from all of my classes.

Name: Juan
Major and Year: Illustration BFA '12
Hometown: Jersey City, NJ
Favorite extra-curricular activities: I collect vinyl toys, produce music (DJ), and research urban culture for inspiration that I can apply to my work.
Favorite book or blog: Capacity by Theo Ellsworth
Best Thing You've Ever Eaten in NYC: A Cuban sandwich and yucca fries from Casa Havana in Chelsea.
Briefly describe the moment you knew Parsons was the one: Parsons became my school of choice when I toured the school and my department of interest, which was illustration. Seeing students at work and learning about the possibility of taking classes from other departments like Communication Design and Design and Technology, I realized that Parsons opened up all the possibilities and skills that I could fully grasp as an illustrator. It was an opportunity I couldn't pass by.
