Re:Source Albany
Re:Source Albany is
an urban development project that re-imagines America’s waste management
strategy, using the city of Albany as a case study. The project proposes a plan
to process trash near its source, digest all of Albany’s organic waste, and
make the recycling process transparent. The design integrates landscape and
architecture with urban infrastructure, promoting awareness of residents’ role
in recycling and waste disposal. The development, which includes an
inter-neighborhood path, a rooftop park, and a community garden, highlights the
process of turning by-products into resources, creates jobs, generates energy,
and dramatically reduces the city’s landfill garbage.
