Transfer students admitted as sophomore or junior students in the BFA, BBA, and BS degree programs should review the information below to ensure a smooth transition to Parsons.
THINGS TO DO BEFORE YOU MEET WITH YOUR ADVISOR
Learn about what makes your Parsons program unique and become familiar with the courses you'll take by exploring the University Course Catalog. The catalog contains descriptions of courses offered by all the divisions of The New School, including Parsons. It also links to the schedule of classes, where you can find the days and times classes are offered.
Think about these questions as you build your schedule:
At what time of day are you most alert and ready to learn?
What other commitments will you have next semester (jobs, internships, family responsibilities)?
What subjects do you want to explore?
Review the Transfer Credit FAQ to find out what documents you must submit to the Office of Admission in order to transfer credits. All credit transfers must be finalized by the end of your first semester. Students are responsible for submitting official transcripts, which must be received by October 15 for students beginning in the fall semester and by March 1 for students beginning in the spring semester. Be sure to discuss questions about transferring credits with your academic advisor during your first meeting. Transfer credits from previously attended universities will not be evaluated after the first semester.
