    An End in Itself

In the body of work “And End in Itself” I am referencing DIY, home improvement and crafts. These are practices that aim to a final goal, through the use and combination of different tools and materials. These practices rely on instructions, though which everyone is able to achieve the same goal, generate and build the same product. I am emptying the instructional process from its content, creating a set of rules that leads to nowhere.

Through the work, I am distancing from the conventional power structures in which knowledge is created, and creating a context according to my personal interpretation. I do this by using a structure of linear progression emptied of its educational purpose. Steps, instructions and phases do not function as cumulative knowledge, do not lead towards
