Students

Parsons Career Services helps students and alumni connect with job opportunities, internships, and other professional opportunities. We offer a variety of resources and services that will give you the competitive edge.

One-on-One Career Advising

All of the Career Services advisors have relevant degrees and professional experiences in art education, fashion, fine arts, graphic design, illustration, and photography. Our advisors meet with students and alumni to advise on topics ranging from job search strategies and salary negotiation to interview skills and industry employment trends.

Job and Internship Fairs

Career Services hosts the most popular, sought after companies at job and internship fairs. These fairs give students the opportunity to meet with companies face-to-face on campus. Top companies that have joined us in the past include Coach, Condé Nast, MTV, and The Walt Disney Company.

Online Job Database

We offer a comprehensive online job database of more than 30,000 registered employers. This is a great place to find up-to-date internship and job postings. Email parsonscareers@newschool.edu for a password and access. Students who already have a password can log in.

Review of Résumé, Cover Letter, and Portfolio

Your résumé, cover letter, and portfolio are essential to securing an internship or job. We're here to help you make the most of your experiences and design work through in-depth reviews. Check out the Parsons Job Search Guide (PDF), which contains sample résumés, a sample cover letter, and job search tips. Once you have written a résumé, you can upload it to the online job database and a Career Services advisor will review it via the site. For access to the online job database, email parsonscareers@newschool.edu and follow the instructions to get your password. Once you have a password, you can log in anytime and upload a résumé.

Preparation for Interviews

Interviewing for any position is both exciting and daunting. Parsons Career Services can help you prepare to impress a prospective employer. We'll offer advice about frequently asked interview questions, learning about industry-related topics, and even what to wear.

Panel Discussions

Career Services regularly hosts panel discussions featuring industry experts and notable alumni. Recent discussion topics include the Basics of Freelancing, Careers in Sustainable Design, Fashion Careers, and Salary Negotiation.
