PRE-COLLEGE ACADEMY SCHEDULES [+]

Spring 2012:
February 4–April 21
Saturdays, 10:00 a.m.–12:50 p.m.
No classes on March 17.

Summer 2012:
July 30–August 10
Monday–Friday, 9:00 a.m. –4:00p.m.

Fall 2012:
To be announced
Saturdays, 10:00 a.m.–12:50 p.m.

Junior and Senior level:
Classes meet Monday-Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon and 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., with a one-hour lunch break.

Elementary level:
Classes are broken into morning and afternoon sessions. Students may enroll in either one or two classes. Students taking only one course, may attend either Parsons from 9:00 a.m.-noon or Jazz from 1:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m. Students enrolled in two courses will take the full day at both schools. Elementary students in the full day program will have a supervised lunch hour.

LOCATION AND TRAVEL INFORMATION [+]

All classes meet at our Greenwich Village campus: 2 West 13th Street, just off Fifth Avenue; OR 55 West 13th Street, between Fifth and Sixth Avenues

The Parsons campus is easily accessible by public transportation:
Subway/PATH
Take the 4, 5, 6, N, or R trains to Union Square. Walk west on 14th Street. Cross Fifth Avenue, and make a left. Walk one block south on Fifth Avenue to 13th Street, and make a right

OR

Take the 1, 2, 3, 9, or F train to 14th Street. Walk east on 14th Street, cross Sixth Avenue (Avenue of the Americas), and make a right. Walk one block south on Sixth Avenue to 13th Street and make a left. Walk east on 13th Street, toward Fifth Avenue.

Taxi
Students should instruct the cab driver to take them to Fifth Avenue and 13th Street.

Car
If you plan to drive to Parsons, there is metered and street parking in the neighborhood. There are also parking garages on 13th Street.

DROP-OFF AND PICK-UP SAFETY [+]

When accompanying your elementary level child to class, please escort him/her directly to the classroom.

We request that parents who pick up junior or senior level students use the lobby of the classroom building as a meeting place.

Please file contact information with the Parsons SPACE office and update the information, as necessary.

In the event that a student will miss class, please call or email the office to notify us of the absence.

If an authorized person does not arrive to pick up a student, that student will be taken to 66 Fifth Avenue, room 200, and the emergency contact will be called.

All parents should review with their children safety procedures to follow in the event of an emergency or change of plans. Be sure that your child knows how he/she should respond in an emergency.

The Parsons Security Office is located at 8 East 16th Street (212.229.5448).

SUPPLIES [+]

Required art supplies vary by course. Supply lists will be distributed on the first day of class. Below please find a list of local art supply stores that carry required materials:
