Ten days of programming dedicated to issues of local food, alternative
transportation, reuse, sustainable innovation and divestment will be
held both on and off campus. Here are some of the highlights:
- April 22, 3:00-6:00 p.m.—Earth Day Community Swap & Meal - Lang Café, 65 West 11th Street
Student organizations Sustainable Cities and Slow Food join
forces for an Earth Day Community Swap and Meal.
- April 25, 6:00-8:00 p.m.—The New School Green Fund Presentations, 66 West 12th Street, Room 510
This annual event showcases nearly 20 dynamic projects by New School students and faculty, who
have received grants from The New School Green Fund in the past two years. A reception will follow.
- April 30, 6:00-8:00 p.m.—Fossil Fuels at The New School: A Panel Discussion on the Endowment, Divestment,
and Student Participation, Wollman Hal, 65 West 11th Street
The New School’s Advisory Committee on Investor
Responsibility, along with Milano's Sustainable Cities Club, will facilitate a panel
discussion that aims to increase awareness and gather input from student body
and interested public on the Divest! movement and non-sustainable investments,
such as fossil fuels.
