The New School's Center for Public Scholarship is pleased to present the 28th Social Research conference, Giving: Caring for the Needs of Strangers, on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, December 6, 7, and 8, 2012. Join us for a three-day, public conference where scholars, policy makers, and philanthropists will examine the religious and philosophical grounds for giving, the psychology and evolution of altruism, the relationship between democracy and philanthropy, as well as the effectiveness of various philanthropic platforms, how social media and philanthrocapitalism are changing the field, and the future of global philanthropy.
