The Urban Design BS Program at Parsons School for Design, and Art in Odd Places (AiOP) will be co-sponsoring its first annual installment of Sidewalk in New York City, from May 11 to 13, along 14th Street between 6th and 7th Avenues.
The festival which acts as a reminder that public spaces function as the epicenter for diverse social interactions and the unfettered exchange of ideas is accepting project proposals for urban interventions, performances, audio, digital and new inventive practices that consider the theme MODEL. The interpretation for the theme may include and is not limited to fashion, prototype, pose, imitate, plan, model citizen, role model and systems. Independent curator, Edwin Ramoran along with a panel of artists, designers and faculty, will review artwork proposed for Sidewalk. The deadline for applications is April 8, at 9:00 p.m.
