Sidewalk [SDS]

- 12:00 p.m.

PART OF PARSONS FESTIVAL 2012:

Presented by the BS Urban Design program and Art in Odd Places (AiOP), Sidewalk is a three-day street festival taking place on 14th Street between Sixth and Seventh Avenues. For the festival program, independent curator Edwin Ramoran and a panel of artists and faculty members have selected urban interventions, performances, audio and digital pieces, and new inventive practices that consider the theme "MODEL." Interpretations of the theme may include--but are not limited to--the following expressions: fashion, prototype, pose, imitate, plan, model citizen, role models, and systems. Featured artists and designers are New School students, faculty, and alumni. Following the mission statement of AiOP, Sidewalk aims to act as a reminder that public spaces function as the epicenter for diverse social interactions and the unfettered exchange of ideas. See the event schedule at newschoolsidewalk.blogspot.com.
