PART OF PARSONS FESTIVAL 2012: Responding to the notion of “living and creating within a specific city,” students from Parsons School for Design (in New York City) and California College of the Arts (in San Francisco) collaborated on a poster project informed by interviews between assigned partners from each school on their subjective viewpoint of their host “_(city)_” while attending art college. Each CCA student designed 50 percent of the poster artwork after selecting a question, answer, and related image from the interview with their partner’s interpretation of their “_(city)_ .” The posters were then sent to Parsons students for their design of the remaining 50 percent, based upon the project criteria. After the poster project was completed, it was displayed at both CCA and Parsons.
This was collaboration between the classes of Pablo A. Medina, an assistant professor at Parsons who is in residence at CCA for the spring 2012 semester, and Aaron Brashear, adjunct professor at Parsons.
Opening Reception: Friday, May 11, 2012, 5:30-8:00 p.m.
