AMT Visiting Artist Lecture Series: Ryan McGinness

The Visiting Artists Lecture Series is sponsored by the School of Art, Media, and Technology (AMT) at Parsons The New School for Design. Organized by Coco Fusco, director of Intermedia Initiatives at AMT, the series invites renowned artists from around the world to give free public presentations each Wednesday.

Ryan McGinness studied as an Andrew Carnegie scholar at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh. While in college, he interned at the Andy Warhol Museum as a curatorial assistant. McGinness creates paintings, sculptures, and environments and is known for his graphic drawings employing the visual language of public signage, corporate logos, and contemporary iconography. His work is in the permanent public collections of the Museum of Modern Art, the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts, the Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego, the Cincinnati Art Museum, MUSAC (Léon, Spain), and the Misumi Collection (Japan).
