AMT Visiting Artist Lecture Series: K8 Hardy

The Visiting Artists Lecture Series is sponsored by the School of Art, Media, and Technology (AMT) at Parsons The New School for Design. Organized by Coco Fusco, director of Intermedia Initiatives at AMT, the series invites renowned artists from around the world to give free public presentations each Wednesday.

K8 Hardy is a New York–based artist represented by Reena Spaulings Fine Art. She holds a BA from Smith College, studied at the Whitney Museum of American Art Independent Study Program, and earned an MFA at the Milton Avery Graduate School for the Arts at Bard College. Hardy is a co-founder of the queer feminist journal and artists’ collective LTTR and has directed music videos for groups including Le Tigre, Lesbians on Ecstasy, and Men. Her work has been exhibited and performed internationally at venues including MoMA PS1 (New York), Artists Space (New York), Tate Modern (London), and Galerie Sonja Junkers (Munich). Hardy’s works, which draw on pop culture, incorporate performance, photography, sculpture, and video.
