Presented by Susan Yelavich of the School of Art and Design History and Theory at Parsons The New School for Design, Global Issues is both a course and a lecture series open to the community. In a world where people migrate more often and ideas and goods move faster than ever before, this lecture series examines the resulting cultural fusions and collisions as a source of new insights rather than just a catalyst for conflict. After an introduction to cultural theory, we explore the ways design and art critique and influence culture in the context of globalization. |
