The Office of Career Services and the School of Fashion at Parsons present a Conversation with Proenza Schouler for the New School community, Wednesday, October 28, from 6:30 – 7:30 p.m. in the second-floor auditorium of the David Schwartz Fashion Education Center at 560 7th Avenue (at 40th Street).
The design team of Lazaro Hernandez and Jack McCollough founded Proenza Schouler after graduating from Parsons in 2002. Since that time they have received numerous awards for their work, including the 2009 Accessory Designer of the Year, the CFDA 2007 Womenswear Designer of the Year, and a 2004 CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Award.
Moderated by Simon Collins, dean of the School of Fashion, the conversation will cover many aspects of Proenza Schouler’s success, such as how they started their company and what their first years of business were like. The designers will also provide inspiration to current students and recent graduates through their tips on how to become a successful entrepreneur.
This event is open only to the university community and alumni. Seating is limited and no RSVP is required. For questions or additional information contact Parsons Career Services at firstname.lastname@example.org.
