Part-time Associate Teaching Professor
Sonya Sklaroff lives and works in New York City. She is represented by galleries in New York, San Francisco, and Paris and her work is included in prestigious private, corporate, and museum collections worldwide. While best known for her paintings of New York City (mainly rooftops and water towers), she can also be seen traveling around the world with her plein air easel box setting up on site to capture every day life in rural landscapes and interiors. She particularly loves to paint in the late afternoon and at dusk, when the golden light creates long shadows, or when objects become silhouetted against the bright sky of twilight. Sonya Sklaroff graduated with a BFA in painting from the Rhode Island School of Design and has an MFA in painting from Parsons.
