Assistant Professor of Fashion Marketing
Michelle Alleyne; fashion authority, industry entrepreneur, and visionary; earned a B.S. at Howard University in Fashion Merchandising/Business Management, studied Apparel Production Management at FIT, and is currently earning her Master's in Strategic Design and Management at Parsons. She's been Assistant Professor at Parsons' School of Fashion Marketing since 2005 teaching Production Methods, NY Trend Spotting, Fashion Industry: Profiles, and Fashion Show Production, and is currently the Styling Club Faculty Advisor, SoF Events Liaison, & Events Editor of 560.
She has 25 years NYC Garment Center experience having managed production (off-shore and domestic), and as product developer, traffic manager, trim buyer, etc for major fashion companies Ann Taylor, Express, Limited, Liz Claiborne, Macy's, Abercrombie and Fitch, Talbots Collection, Walmart, and Halston to name a few. She owned the trendsetting Downtown NYC boutique M Shop for 5 years, is a trend forecaster, has styled music videos, print, and TV commercials. She designed her own M Shop label & special t-shirts for charity, as well she authored "How To Manufacture/Produce Your Designs".
In addition she owns M Shop NYC, former ultra innovative boutique in downtown Manhattan, which has since morphed into providing expert Consulting on Fashion Business Start-up, Marketing/PR, and Manufacturing, it produces Fashion Shows and Events for designers and corporations, and for the last 10 years has been conducting renowned Fashion, PR, & Stylist Workshops globally assisting thousands of fashion entrepreneurs with starting and building their own businesses.
