Mary Gehlhar is the author of The Fashion Designer Survival Guide a best-selling business book that walks designers through the diverse challenges of establishing and growing their own brands. She coaches designers and small fashion related business on branding, product development, market strategy, and growth. Mary acts as a curator to large brands and other businesses who wish to partner with designers to integrate fashion into their company strategy.
Mary served for 10 years as Fashion Director of Gen Art, creating and directing fashion programming to introduce hundreds of emerging designers to the fashion industry and press. Mary scouted the most promising new talents and developed New York Fashion Week runway debuts and other key business opportunities for the designers. She is an industry resource for prestigious media outlets, including the New York Times, British Vogue, Washington Post, Boston Globe, CNNfn, and E! Style channel. Mary also led the open call and selection process for the first four seasons of the Bravo hit Project Runway.
