In addition to teaching design history and theory at Parsons The New School for Design as a member of the school's part-time faculty, Emma Bowen also currently works for two organizations working to empower communities through artisan support initiatives, Friends of Tilonia and Anatolian Artisans. Emma has worked as a research fellow in the Drawings, Prints, and Graphic Design Department at Cooper-Hewitt, National Design Museum, as an educator at the Lower East Side Tenement Museum, and as a research assistant for SURevolution. Emma_received an M.A. in the History of Decorative Arts and Design from Parsons, in conjunction with Cooper-Hewitt, in January of 2009, and a B.A. (summa cum laude) in Architectural Studies from Connecticut College in 2001.
