Dean holds an MFA from The New York Academy of Art where he studied with Steven Assael, Eric Fischl, Vincent Desiderio, Damian Loeb and Tony Scherman. In the spring of 2003 he worked as a summer resident in Norway at the studio of internationally acclaimed figurative painter Odd Nerdrum. He has exhibited at both Sotheby's and Christie's auction houses in New York. He holds a Certificate in Fine Art from The Maryland Institute College of Art, and was a summer resident at the Florence Academy of Art. He is a member of The Art Students League where he studied with Greg Kreutz and Nelson Shanks. Dean's work is in private collections world-wide and corporate collections including The Federal Bureau of Investigation, United Airlines, Struever Brothers, Eccles and Rouse, The Baltimore Sun and Donnas restaurants. Prior to devoting his time to fine art, Dean worked for 10 years as graphic designer and illustrator for The Baltimore Sun.
