Part-time Associate Teaching Professor
Ms. Marcia DiLiberto holds a Bachelor's degree in liberal arts and completed her professional training at Traphagan School of Fashion Design in Manhattan where she earned a Certificate in Fashion Design. Her career in the fashion industry began with a two year stint with Pierre Cardin as an Associate Designer in the sportswear division after which she freelanced for several years in various markets including children's wear, misses, junior sportswear, maternity, bathing suits and uniforms. Her own label, which was available in specialty stores and boutiques around the country won her recognition in WWD, and her garments were shown at Studio 54 and other NYC clubs. As well, she was acknowledged in New York magazine and local newspapers for giftware lines she designed and developed for various clients, including the Metropolitan Opera, Bath and Body Works and other exclusive gift shops in NYC, Philadelphia and Washington, DC. Prior to joining the BFA Fashion Design program at Parsons The New School for Design in 2002, Ms. DiLiberto was a faculty member in the Continuing Education Fashion Department since 1994, and continued to teach fashion and design related courses at various other Manhattan colleges. Central to her personal interests are photography and travel.
