  • Matthew Tanteri, Assistant Professor of Lighting Design, one of the first graduates of Parsons MFA Lighting program, Matthew has been at Parsons for the past eight years, teaching primarily in the MFA Lighting program. Matthew is the principal of Tanteri + Associates, a design and consulting practice, and is well known in the field as a leader in the NY lighting community. His work has been recognized as being at the forefront of this emerging area of study. He has also already been recognized for techniques he has developed to visualize numerical data driven information through tangible hands on tools. He is the recipient of design awards for his work on the Ponce Museum of Art (NYIES Lumen Award), Solar Light Pipe (IALD Award of Merit), Light Threshold, Sydney Olympics Complex (NYIES Lumen Citation), Iwataya Passage (Architectural Record Awards), Chanel rue Cambon (Interiors Honor Award), and Pleats Please (I.D. Award for Design Distinction) among others. In addition to the M.F.A. in Architectural Lighting Design from Parsons, Matthew holds a B.A. from The Cooper Union.
