Assistant Professor of Design & Research, Design Strategies
Raoul Rickenberg_is an Assistant Professor in the School of Design Strategies at Parsons The New School for Design. His research concerns organizational behavior, communication technology, and the development of complex socio-technical systems. Situated at the intersection of analytical and generative practice, this work has been presented at a wide variety of academic conferences and appears in scientific as well as design-oriented publications. It also informs the courses that Raoul has developed, which concern processes by which people shape and adapt to their environments, as well as the work of MAPstudios, a firm that he founded in order to apply this knowledge to the design of digital interfaces. Raoul holds a PhD in Communication and an MA in Media Studies, both from Stanford University, as well as a BFA in Sculpture from the Rhode Island School of Design.
