Mears, Alison

Alison Mears AIA LEED AP is the current Director of the BFA Architecture and Interior Design programs in the School of Constructed Environments and an Assistant Professor. Alison teaches an interdisciplinary studio, SDS projects Urban communities, for the fall in the Chase competition in New Orleans. This course is a partnership in New York between the New School (Milano graduate students) and Parsons design students (architecture, IDC, AAS, MFA and BBA) and a partnership between The New School and a nonprofit organization in the in New Orleans. This year we have partners in the Central City area of New Orleans. Alison also teaches a community based program as part of the Solar Decathlon project based in the Deanwood area of Washington DC. Alison is a registered architect who has worked in both large corporate firms and now heads up with her own architectural practice.( Formerly: Mitchell/Giurgola and Thorpe, Australia; Pei Cobb, Freed and Partners, NYC.
