Associate Professor of Illustration, School of Art, Media, and Technology
Nora Krug is an associate professor at Parsons The New School for Design. She studied performance design, documentary film, and illustration at the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts, the University of Arts in Berlin, and the School of Visual Arts in New York, where she was a Fulbright and DAAD scholar. Krug has received commissions for illustrations from clients including the New York Times, the Boston Globe, The Guardian, and Le Monde Diplomatique. Her work has been featured in Print, Page, and Jitter magazines, and on NHK (Japan Broadcasting Corporation). Krug's achievements have been recognizaed by the New York Art Directors Club and American Illustration, and her visual narratives earned her a gold medal from the Society of Illustrators. Krug has exhibited her work internationally. Her animations have been featured at the Ars Electronica in Linz, Austria; the Ogaki Biennale in Gifu, Japan; and the Sundance Film Festival. Before her appointment at Parsons, Krug was a professor extraordinarius at the Muthesius Academy in Kiel, Germany.
