Jeff Rosenfeld, is an Environmental Gerontologist who looks at the interplay of aging, architecture, and other design fields. The gerontological perspective celebrates the global aging, and considers how architecture, fachion, and product design can impact on the lives of older people; and also how the global "Age Wave" is impacting on all design fields. Recent books include UnAssisted Living: Ageless Homes For Later Life (with Wid Chapman, AIA), NY: Monacelli Press/Random House, 2011; and Home Design In An Aging World (also with Wid Chapman, AIA), NY: Fairchild/Conde Nast, 2008. Forthcoming: New Communities, New Design Challenges: Aging, Ethnicity and Social Change. Memberships include American Society on Aging, Environments for Aging, and The Society (by invitation). Awarded the 2014 World Award by Senior Umbrella Network of Brooklyn. Ph.D., Stony Brook University. MA, University of Massachusetts, Amherst. Teaching experience includes University of Utah, and Hofstra University.

The interplay of aging, architecture, and interior design. Recent research has focused on how the changing ethnic composition of the USA is impacting on design of homes, products, and clothing for older people. Special interest: the "New" ethnic elders living in the greater New York area: Korean, Hindu, Guyanese, Dominican, and Chinese elders.
